rail congestion

Post by knifepoint »

hi, how do signals work in locomotion? ive tried constructing a multi platform train station but the trains just hang at a signal before the station, even though there are 3 empty platforms.

Simply put the two-way signal before the branch

That's actually not the problem, at least in this shot. It's hard to spot, but I noticed that your train is just slightly too long for the station so it's blocking the signal. That's why they're all waiting.

Axel is partially right, however, except you want to put two-way signals right before each station platform instead of before the junction. Everything else should be one-way. This way, if every platform is full, the next train will wait at the junction until one of the stations is empty instead of waiting directly behind a station.
