I've recently begun playing with two people (after a decade of playing it alone) and it's become apparent that we both need identical Objdata folders in order to avoid time-outs when new vehicles are purchased.
That being said, I've experienced a massive amount of lag aside from that. On later scenarios it can be so bad that the game is constantly stopping to catch the computers up with one another and there's barely enough time to pause the game. Is this related or is my connection simply awful?

Hello Zakos. This a common problem, and has many answers. So therefore rather than write a lenthy post, have a look around this website: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id- ... puter.html

Zakos:
Your problem could be as simple as the game sounds. I play single player mode. Occasionally, the game begins running slow and choppy. If I do nothing, it usually continues to run, but poorly. Sometimes, it locks up the computer, and I have to reboot.
However, if I MUTE the game sounds, the game runs just fine.
So try muting the game sounds. It may help. I realize this isn't the same problem you're having, but the solution may work.
