Can't build standard gauge stations

Post by daylight4449 »

So, after some modding (ok, a lot of modding), I've run into an issue. Regardless of the fact that the stations for standard gauge lines are enabled, the tab is missing and I can't construct them. All of the other forms of transport are perfectly fine... Has anyone seen this issue?

This happens only in the game or already in the editor?
What mods you have installed? Apart from vehicles.
Did you do a backup from the original folder?
Did you take a new copy and piece by piece the mods inserted again? Try this. Run the game after each mod and see if it still goes. So you can find the malefactor.
If you dont made a backup, you must manually remove any extraneous files. But this is difficult. You may not remove original files. Otherwise fails to boot the game.

Good luck

Ignore this; see below

I'm assuming this is a custom scenario you made in order to test your changes?

The only reasons I can think of for there to be no tab available are:
  1. Railroads were deselected in the list of transport modes you can use (the place in the scenario editor where you determine what you and your competitors can use)
  2. You have absolutely no rail vehicles selected in the editor
I suppose there could be something wrong with trackst.dat, but I doubt the game would even launch if there were.

He can build all other stations. In addition, the station is not dependent upon the selection of vehicles.

Yes, this could also be a reason.

Ah, I misread that and thought he couldn't build railroads at all.

In that case, make sure you've added the stations that you want into the code of trackst.dat and that you've changed numstations accordingly.

Looking back, I know I changed the trackst.dat file. Beyond models, the only thing I added was some stations, including the Food and Valuables mod. That right there could have done it... But me being me, I don't have the original trackst.dat file backed up to replace the current one and test this hypothesis. I'll try going back to an earlier file to see if that does the trick.
Edit: Replacing the trackst.dat file did the trick.

Good. So have you modded the file yourself or was it just replaced by one of the mods?

Just replaced it with a modded file. I think that the file from the valuables mod was my issue...

You can only have up to 7 different station types in use at a time.

E.g. The default stations TRSTAT1-TRSTAT5 are encoded into the track file. Let's say the valuables mod comes with 7 new stations, all encoded into the new track file. If you replace the file and select the original stations, you won't be able to build them even though they're available in the scenario.

If you want to change which ones you use, you need to modify trackst.dat yourself.

EDIT: Here's a link if you want it -> http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=29348

Hi

You say that in trackst.dat only 7 stations is allowed, even if it's a lot of alternatives.. What happens if I put stations in signal "Tools"? Can I put stat1 in under the signal category?

It won't work. If you try to re-compile it, the file will give you an error message about why it doesn't work.
