locotool wrapper won't work

Post by ExcessMean7 »

I have recently started playing Locomotion again. I really like the game, but the breakdowns are annoying and keep me from doing anything useful. I downloaded the wrapper for loco tool and set it to no breakdowns. I did everything I am supposed to do but it won't create any files. When it is finished it just stops without giving me any files. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if there is something wrong with it. I move all the .dat files from the objdata folder into the box, and it starts working. And then it finishes without doing anything. I don't know if I'm looking in the wrong place, doing it wrong, or if it just isn't working. If anyone knows the answer please let me know. I can't stand replacing 80 trains, trucks, buses, ect, every five minutes.

Hello ExcessMean7, and welcome to the forums.

I would suggest that you use the "search" function situated at the top right of the page. Always do this first. If you can't find what you are looking for, then do a Google search.

Just friendly advice.......and enjoy the forums.

Cheers! :)

Hi Grayfox, thanks for the welcoming. Before I posted this I looked all over google and these forums, but could not find anyone having the same problem as me. Your link was helpful, but I still don't know why the locotool won't make any files. Once again thank you for the welcoming, and have a good rest of your day! :D

It might be if you're running certain versions of Windows (I know Vista has the problem because I experienced it, and there's another one too iirc). If your UAC seetings are On, try turning them Off. You should then get the 2 folders.

If you aren't playing with a lot of engines, you can use locotool.exe to edit the individual data files and change their reliability to 0 (100%). If you have to do a bunch of vehicles it's tedious, but it works.

Make a backup copy of the original data file first, of course.
