Graphics error with windows 7

Hi guy
I love TTD and Locomotion but hav a problem with Locomotion. IT WONT EVEN START!!
Ive done everything that has been surgested online about changing the settings so it runs in XP (SP2/3) and disabling everything so the game runs. the only thing i havnt done is update the game as i cant find the updates (maybe im being stupid)
Im running windows 7 home premium and dont really want to put a VM on my pc as i dont hav a coppy of win XP =(
Can someone help me with this as the pop up says 'Unable to initialize graphics system' and really want to play this game.

Right i have patched the game to 1.76 and still no luck. Can somebody help me!?!

Tried all those and even tried a reinstall of the game and still no luck. I cant even find the game on steam or origin so cant download it from a Wedsite to make it work.
Why is it this game and the rollercoaster tycoon games wont run on Windows 7?!?

Even the one with compatibility mode? That usually does the trick.

And they're not the only programs to not cooperate with Win7. Many business and recreational programs aren't compatible.

well im running home premium and both rollercoaster and locomotion both hav the same problem. really starting to wish the game was Open like Transport Tycoon, then i wldnt hav this problem.

The only thing I can suggest is to update your graphics drivers & Direct X, if you have not already done so. Sorry I can't think of anything else at the moment. But you might try a Google search.

My Windows 7 is all upto date and runs all other games fine apart from the loco and rollercoaster. My friend said to download a cracked exe and it sld work but I havnt tried that yet. The Google search is going CRAP due to nobody being able to fix it without installing a VM and running XP on it.it worked on my pc before I updated to 7 from xp via a CD. Now these two games are the only ones not running on my pc but I want to ask if anybody else has fixed this problem (one game had the settings all wrong so my screen was going blank and ive tried to find out if it is the settings and I cant seem to find the options file.

Can you post your full system stats, such as OS, ram, graphics card etc ?

Searches on Chris Sawyer's other games suggest that a virtual machine, compatibility mode, and "run in 256 colors" are your options.

Yes......but I couldn't see any mention of using on board graphics. So I suggest using a graphics card. I use an Nvidia GT 610 2GB, and I don't get any graphics problems. But I don't use Windows 7.

edit: Compatability might be the problem.

Try disabling visual themes, running it in Windows XP SP3 mode and selecting 256 colours in compatibility settings.
