Is it possible to replace an airport or delete it?

because i have a small airport but i want a medium airport there instead, or do i just leave the small one a build the med one somewhere else?

select airport constrution and right click at the small airport to remove and build the medium one

if you want to make sure new airport REPLACES the older one,
you could temporarily add a trainstation (1x1 sized one) or other station
right beside you old airport (then it should be counted as one combined
station...) and then delete the old airport, and place the new airport beside the station you just built.

You can also just right click the airport twice. (Presuming there are no aircraft using it)

The only solution is to put all the plains that link your airport on the ground (better on the other airport ). After all the plains are landed you may place over the new bigger airport!
I found this solution today when I tried to replace my planes.
