Elevated and subway track priority over road vehicles

Post by luxtram »

I was wondering about implementing elevated tracks and subways as street car tracks.

Obviously this has been done but with one major complication - street cars must wait after road vehicles and this makes the result odd at least.

So I was thinking that what if the newgrf has a parameter that the street cars can pass trough the road vehicles (but implemented as overtaking).

Obviously this would not make any sense for trams but it looks a perfect solution for anything above or below.

Having recently worked on Zephyris' Suspended Monorail, I can see what you are on about. I found myself using bridges so that "elevated" type vehicles could "fly over" the streets below. Sadly work seems to have stalled on Not Road Types because that would have been the ideal lab for considering this.

Agreed, but it could have been the platform for exploring the possibilities.
