A few industry setting ideas

Brief Preface:
I want to be able to play using industries newGRFs (FIRS, ECS, YETI, BSPI, Etc) on a large map so using the newGRF manual industries is not a viable solution for how I want to play

The Ideas:
  • Allow multiple Primary or Secondary or Both per town
  • Disable Closure of Primary, Secondary or All Industries
Expanding Upon That:
  • Allow multiple Primary or Secondary or Both per town
I play with low town density and high industry density so I had this thought after seeing 3 factories right next to each other I want a lot of primary industries and limited secondary ones and use industry newGRFs
  • Disable Closure of Primary, Secondary or All Industries
I play slowly and once I get a steady flow of cargo to start utilizing secondary industries they have begun closing

Disable Closure of Primary, Secondary or All Industries
NewGRFs can already disable that feature, for example FIRS does.

Yes, but not every industry newGRF out there does (ECS BSPI)

... which is why this won't ever be a setting.

I don't see the problem with a game setting that can override / complete / be overrided by a NewGRF setting :

- Allow closure if not set in NewGRF --> This is the current behaviour
- Allow closure (override NewGRF setting)
- Forbid closure if not set in NewGRF
- Forbid closure (override NewGRF setting)
