So i think the roads should change design after an amount of years and here are some ideas:
-1945 - 1950:gravel roads
-1951 - 1970:deafult road without lines
-1971 - 1990:deafult road
-1991 - 2000:Darker deafult road
-2001 - 2020:Modern black roads
-2021 - 2050:Futuristic roads (since futuristic vehicles come early,it makes sense)
and if the roads get obsolete they will have a speed limit

Re: Deafult Road changing look after the years
Hello

All this is possible with NRT with a few exceptions.
1. A player needs to activate a NRT-NewGRF-set with the wanted road types. With no NRT-set one gets only the default roads.
2. The streets will get no automatic upgrades over the time only because of the introduction of a new road time. A player has to overbuild the roads with the new types.

Which road should the game use in the time before 1945? And, not to forget, which town (not village) had gravel roads in the middle of the twentieth century? I would expect at least paved roads for this time.justaplayer wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021 06:40 So i think the roads should change design after an amount of years and here are some ideas:

New roads every single or two decades? Must be a extreme rich local authorities.justaplayer wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021 06:40 -1951 - 1970:deafult road without lines

From a historical perspective, UK and the rest of Europe started paving roads with asphalt/bitumen in the 1830s, and by 1900 nearly all of the world's major cities had replaced their road surfaces with asphalt, even before they had completely replaced animal-drawn wagons.
