Include in official release a new look and update vechicles

OpenTTD is a prefect replacement of the Transport Tycoon Delux, but without graphical and vechicle optimization. The game ends in aprox 2010.
Maybe you can officialy release and support a new look, like aBase and from most popular newgrfs can extend vechicles park to can play until 2100, and with release of new vechicles, like before 2010.
For me and probably for others too, is very difficult to select and test newgrfs, to play a modern game. Probably can be a good idea to include the most powerfull features in an official release.

looks are not everything. if you want a "modern game", maybe you should go play transport fever.

aBase & Co have a lot of problems. no clear style, not enough quality control, no compatibility with NewGRFs. Forcing this upon all players as default may turn out as a bad idea.

Also, the last vehicle introduction date is 2037 (Trains) and 2042 (Planes)

The entire purpose of creating the NewGRF spec was so that people could add content they want without the OpenTTD devs ever having to deal with changing graphical styles or the vehicles included in the game.

What problems are you having that you cannot install and activate NewGRFs?
