Tunneltypes like bridgetypes?

Tunneltypes like bridgetypes?
I wonder if it could be possible to introduce tunneltypes, just like bridgetypes...
So that when you build a tunnel you get a sub-menu with various graphics and/or features (like speed limits), just like when building bridges.
That way you could get more variation of tunnels while still using one track/roadtype...
Could this be possible at all?

Re: Tunneltypes like bridgetypes?
I see, that would be useful with your tunnel with eyecandy road.
To be honest i think it's quite easy to do.

Re: Tunneltypes like bridgetypes?
Well it would eliminate the use of that GRF, as that changes all tunnels to that type.I see, that would be useful with your tunnel with eyecandy road.
The suggestion is to have multiple types of tunnels, that are not linked to a certain rail- or roadtype and will only change that one specific tunnel you are building.
I dont know...To be honest i think it's quite easy to do.
No idea how difficult it was to impliment bridge-types....

Re: Tunneltypes like bridgetypes?
From my perspective, it'd be "nice" if [everything] had essentially the same options as train stations. Docks. Bus stops. Wharfs. Locks. Channels. Depots.
But I can't imagine that this would be trivial, otherwise somebody would have done it ^^ No clue what the most difficult part would be: adjusting newGRF specs? I mean, with NRT happening, you'd probably for example also already take in account things like that tunnelportal type A can only be used with roadtype A, B, C while tunnelportal B might be usable with C and D, but E only before 1950 ... or whatever other fancy stuff one might come up with. ^^

Bridge types exist since Transport Tycoon is out...Quast65 wrote:Well it would eliminate the use of that GRF, as that changes all tunnels to that type.I see, that would be useful with your tunnel with eyecandy road.

akshully, IIRC TT didn't have them, they came as a new feature in TTDacs121 wrote:Bridge types exist since Transport Tycoon is out...Quast65 wrote:Well it would eliminate the use of that GRF, as that changes all tunnels to that type.I see, that would be useful with your tunnel with eyecandy road.

I actually don't really know, but i think they existed in TT.Drury wrote:akshully, IIRC TT didn't have them, they came as a new feature in TTDacs121 wrote:Bridge types exist since Transport Tycoon is out...Quast65 wrote: Well it would eliminate the use of that GRF, as that changes all tunnels to that type.

Re: Tunneltypes like bridgetypes?
TTO had all of the bridge types in TTD except the tubular ones.
Re: Tunneltypes like bridgetypes?
I think tubular bridges came way later than TTD IIRC.supermop wrote:TTO had all of the bridge types in TTD except the tubular ones.
