"Sea lanes"?

Post by kamnet »

Something I've thought about a few times, but not bothered to check so maybe I'll just ask here.

NewGRF ships can be programmed to travel faster on canals than on sea, right? And you can build canal waters on sea, right?

What about developing a NewGRF ship set that does just that, and then build lanes of canal tiles in the sea for higher-speed sea travel which the pathfinder will then naturally seek out and take advantage of?

Yes, but you have to give explicit orders to follow them.

I'll be durned - the old man's been holding out on me. He didn't tell me he got his time machine working!

*Reads* Well, it's certainly one way to do it, just not the way I was thinking. :)
