I think these misc cars should be shwoing up near cities and roads between houses and cities. They decrease as bus services increase.
It would add for difficulty as the buses start off, and gridlock takes place.

The Developers already said that this would require immense CPU power... (I just don't understand how this works in other transport games )

If you look at SimCity 4 (not really a transportation game, I know), you'll see that switching on traffic in medium zoom level great decreases adaptivity of the program. That's how it works for at least a part. Honestly I can't think of *other* transportation games with animated traffic on the streets. RRT series, 3DTT/T&TT and that funnygamereleasedbyJowoodinthepastofwhichIcan'trememberthename didn't have it.
