traffic jams

Post by stigro »

As you advance in openttd the traffic jams become a real nightmare. When you add new roads the traffic doesn't split, but instead every car wants to take the shortest path, ending up in traffic jam again.

Feature proposal : Would it be a good idea to have something similar to Android Waze, where cars inform other cars of the current speed of a certain path ?

You can use waypoints (stations with via order) to route traffic.

Quite a hack as the vehicle will stop at the station and then accelerate again.

Any idea of a patch with real road waypoints?
All I know of are waypoints for rail and buoys for ships.
