Construct railway/roads on tunnels

Hello,

First of all, I'm not sure if this has been proposed before, tried to search abit but didn't find anything.

Anyways, in the TTDPatch you could build on tunnel exits. This was really cool imo as it allowed you to build more realistic railwyas and roads. Furthermore, it allowed you to build "more compact" so to speak.

Any chance this could be implemented in Open TTD? I can't seem to find this option anywhere so I assume it isn't possible.

This is not possible ATM, like Custom Bridge Heads (CBH), which allows you to do a similar thing with bridges (like bridges 1-tile long, with both heads on slopes which, being orizontal, can be changed to any configuration)
Both features I want to see in OTTD one day :P

So you can place tracks and roads directly above tunnel entrances. It's difficult to describe without a picture.

Sometimes, Enchanted Tunnels can be emulated with Bewitched Bridges over the tunnel entrance... Works like a charm ! :lol:

isn't their a grf available fot this? Maybe i'm worng. It just didn't enable diagonal tracks obtop of the entrance/exit. But straight track was possible?

OTTD currently doesn't support building on tunnel entrances or exits as well as it doesn't support custom bridge heads. That cannot be helped by grfs either.

There is. It's called TTDPatch.

(Does anyone remember the reason why Open hasn't added custom bridge heads and enhanced tunnels? If I knew it, I've forgotten.)

Because no-one's ever finished coding them.

Oh yeah, the enhanced tunnel feature. I used to use it when I played TTDP.

Do you all plan to code them (custom tunnels and bridge ramps) in, or just leave it that way?

And did enhanced tunnels in TTDP allow buildings to be built on top of the tunnel?

Oh. :oops: I thought someone had done them and they had been rejected for some reason, or that it was decided to wait until some other feature appeared.
