waiting for free path - as entering depot
Hey,
maybe someone can help me. I've got a train entering the depot - and stopping on half of its way. During entering the train shows "waiting for free path". How do I get the train off the railway?
The issue happened with 1.9.0 beta 2 - after upgrading to RC1 the train isn't moving either.
Does anyone has any hints?

Re: waiting for free path - as entering depot
This is because the train is blocked against another train because of a signal.
Signals are here to regulate your trains, and will automatically prevent any train crash - they generally happen if you force them to go through a signal that is blocking them (you can force them to ignore a signal by clicking on the button with the signal and a red cross, however in your situation I'd highly disreccomend doing that).
If you want your train to free the path of your other train, click on the reverse arrow of the window of Train 44 in this case. The train will reverse in the depot, leaving a free path for the other train. Train 44 will automatically go where he had to go.

This looks like it might be a bug.
Can you upload your savegame as well?

Yep, Got it working. Forgot the button and it's function. Now the train is off.
nevertheless I added the savegame. I think this behaviour is not normal.

Re: waiting for free path - as entering depot
This behaviour IS normal.
Why ?
Because you are using PBS signals.
There are 2 types of this signal : normal PBS (the one you've used in your screenshot) and one-way PBS.
If this train was blocked by the other train, it's because normal PBS signals allow trains in both directions.
You should convert a few PBS signals at some switches to avoid trains taking the wrong direction - in OpenTTD, any vehicle will take the fastest way available.

Re: waiting for free path - as entering depot
There are no PBS signals in the screenshot. As far as I can tell, there are no PBS signals anywhere in the savegame.acs121 wrote:This behaviour IS normal.

Yeah, those are presignals/block entry.PikkaBird wrote:There are no PBS signals in the screenshot. As far as I can tell, there are no PBS signals anywhere in the savegame.acs121 wrote:This behaviour IS normal.

and only that, which means you won't even get the benefit, since no exit/combo signal.
Hell, I've forgotten the benefit of them.
Something goes here, hell if I know.
Re: waiting for free path - as entering depot
My bad, I thought those were PBS signals because of the fields.
