Help me, Procedure to update translation

Hi all,

I want to know how to update the original French Translation in OpenTTD0.3.2.1 ?

I've downloaded:

- The French .txt (french-20040610.txt) file available on bottom of this page here:

- The working STRGEN for this version of OpenTTD available on bottom of this page:
http://ttforums.owenrudge.net/viewtopic ... sc&start=0

So, when i do this command line (strgen lang/french.txt) i've got this error message:

The newest French translation has been done in sync with the latest development version. In that, there are a lot of strings which were not present in 0.3.2.1.

If you want French for 0.3.2.1 then you have to go to French.txt and delete all those strings it could not find.

If you want French for the latest version, download the nightly build (see here: http://ttforums.owenrudge.net/viewtopic.php?t=8058), and generate french.lng based on the english.txt found there.

Can you tell me if it's necessary to generate a new french.lng if i've got the lastest nightly build ???

This lastest version doesn't offer the last based nightly french translation ???

it does. The problem with French is that the svn version currently misses 674 strings. OTTD will replace those with English ones. There are work in progress to finish that translation

that's the server with the newest source. That prevents somebody to implement features on an outdated source, that is if they use their svn client to update their local copy of the svn source
