installing newgrf
Hi all! I was just wondering how to install newgrfs not available on BaNaNas.

Re: installing newgrf
Find the NewGRF you want (this list or this site are good places to start), download it, and put it in the Documents\OpenTTD\newgrf folder. Or just skip to that if you already have the NewGRF. You can make sub-folders too if you want to sort things.
If it's a TAR archive, I recommend you just drop it in there as-is so it'll include readmes and such files (tar.gz needs to be extracted once into a tar for this to work).

The do-not-readme.txt file that came with your OpenTTD program also explains everything, eg
https://hg.openttd.org/trunk.hg/file/a6 ... e.txt#l267 (11 months old, your version may be slightly different)

Being a retired OpenTTD developer does not mean I know what I am doing.

I've never read that... after all, it tells me not to read it, so why would I?Alberth wrote:The do-not-readme.txt file that came with your OpenTTD program also explains everything, eg
