cpu usage under linux / only water on start

Post by eNTi »

hi everyone.

ttd under linux takes up about 66-99% of cpu without timidity extmidi and 98-99% with midi enabled on my system. i'm having a xp2000+, so this seems a little odd. the original game ran on my 486DX2/66!

how do i get this game screen back, one usually has, when entering the game? i can see only water. yes i do have compiled it with "-DWITH_ZLIB".

the only water background is because
1: you have no zlib support
2: you don't have opntitle.dat in your data folder

1 is ok, so it have to be 2

OpenTTD will try to use 100% of the CPU if you use fast forward

I had this problem while making my own installer build from source using the nsi script. Why isn't that file in the svn repository?

2. i don't have no opntitle.dat. maybe i need to check my original game again, if it's there.

openttd uses as much cpu in normal, as in fast forward mode here.

Because its a file from Transport Tycoon. They are not allowed to distribute that file.

We have our own title screen now - it's in the 'useful' package at SourceForge.
