OpenTTD ubuntu

Hello,

I want to install OpenTDD on linux/ubuntu, but when I download the "install" file from the openttd website, the .deb file installs an older version of the game.

How can I install the latest version of OpenTTD so I can play multiplayer?

Huh?
You installed one of the files from here? http://www.openttd.org/en/download-stable

At least the Linux generic binaries version is 1.6.1.


Perhaps you are installing using the package manager instead? That pulls its data from the Ubuntu/Debian repositories, see http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=openttd
Depending on your Ubuntu version, you get a more or less old version then.

So how do I install it on ubuntu then? If I run it with "Software install" it moves me to the Ubuntu Software Center that has version 1.5.3

Tried searching for an answer at the Internet? That's faster than waiting.

(1st and 2nd result by a single google search)

Alternatively, get the generic binaries archive, unpack, and run the program (no need to install)
