your electric train will need electric power! That's the problem on normal rails.

and how do I get that on the normal rail? (For f.e. the SH'30')

You build electrified rails, obviously.

Depends on whether you're at 640x480 or anything else
640x480: Same as for monorail/maglev in TTDUnpatched. Left click on the railbuilding-icon, drag down to "electrified rail"
Anything else: Click on the button to the right of the rail building button. I can't remember what it looks like right now, and Cht:year doesn't work (not that I really expected it to)
