Trains keep sitting in depot

Post by SkullKrixzz »

recently i have gotten an issue where at the start of each new game month my trains will be told by the game to go to the depot, when they get there they dont come out, other than just making it hard on my routes, its annoying having to go into my train lists and telling them to go again, i have looked and not found anyone else with this issue either, i have no idea how to fix it or what may have made it start happening, i run hardpack patch as well.

Can you post the game where it's exhibiting the problem?

i assume you mean a screenshot right? i dont use forums too often so im sorry...

if i did it correct there should be a photo showing game settings for maintenance since im assuming that would be where the issue is, as well its mainly my "GO" trains that are affected the most.

i also created a new map to see if maybe it was just this save and the issue still happened on that map as well....

Well i can tell you now 10 days/% is way too low, theyll be going into the depot every 2 seconds.

No, I meant a copy of the .sav file.

When "Maintenance intervals is in percent" is on, is 10 still too low? It normally takes a while to deplete 10% of the reliability score from its max, assuming the max is not something ridiculously low like 30-40%.

Excuse my ignorance then, i understood this to mean service internal was 10 days per percentage drop (default being 100 days).

I think 10% decay would be fine, we may need to see an order of a train that is stuck in a depot.

@Sylf Not sure how muich use a savegame is, the OP runs hardpack patch, so it's not vanilla OpenTTD.
Being a retired OpenTTD developer does not mean I know what I am doing.

It could be that a train in a depot can't now get to where it wants to go. I've had that multiple times...a train needs to go down the wrong line (against signals) and can never obtain a slot when other trains aren't in the way.

Does the train indicate anything, like "waiting for free path" (I can't remember the exact wording used.

It looked like at least the Windows binaries of the patch pack is available, so I thought I would still be able to look into the game with it. It can be anything from track design, orders, signals, etc.

Stop all the train and just start one.
Start one train and let it run.
Click ignore signal if it doesn't work.
Then the train will probably run.
