MU heads not taking on any cargo

Post by BobDendry »

I'm not sure if this is a problem with OTTD or the GRF (I'd point toward the GRF since I'm the one coding it), but I'm experiencing a problem where any MUs/articulated engines aren't taking on cargo. I have a number of vehicles coded as either multiheads or as articulated that should be picking up passengers (listed in the purchase list/capacities screen on the vehicle window) which aren't picking up passengers. If they're the only train servicing a station, they'll trigger passengers to start building up there, but won't actually pick any up?

I've tried searching but haven't found any similar issues reported. Any advice?

have you checked the train info window on whether they actually have capacity?

can you attach a test grf to reproduce?

Check the loading speed of the vehicles.

Loading speed has fixed it. I guess I was under the false assumption that not setting a loading speed prop would cause it fall back on a default value.

"default values" are always unsafe in NewGRFs. either your vehicle replaces an existing vehicle, then the original value is kept, otherwise it's probably initialized to 0.
