I've played TTD ever since it was released and RRT and RRT2 .... now when i load Open TTD and play a game it shows me news articles that there is a new train available .... but when i go to my depot its not available to build .... can any one point me to a solution i've tried google but i cant find anything useful .... have i messed up my install or is there a setting i need to change to get them working ?
i can provide screen shots if you like.

Yes, some screenshots would help.
But have you tried different depot types? Press and keep holding the railway icon and build one of each railway type and see if you can build the train in one of them.

brilliant ! i didnt know that there were different depot types .... a tool tip would be handy
ill go and give it a go
.... i think this is the solution b/c i can only build steam and diesel trains atm and the new ones are electric
... does this mean i have to build tracks with over head power lines too ?
