All ECS industries need input to work and output to grow.

So you have to provide some fertilizer (about 500 tons for the first three years) and one train (or even one truck) for fruit and fibre for the first two years is enough. Production is only in September, fertilizer is needed in October.

After that production will begin to boost (my experience).

You have to transport output with high ratings.
Fertiliser is optional, it only multiplies output.

ok cheers

they are not dien now \o/

but a comment /idea.....lotsa people like big maps im sure

maybe a industrty can be made invulnerable untill the first player builds a station near the industry

cuz all the ones that were placed for the scenario will all start to fade away before anyone has a chance to hook up

and not to be a pain but some of the industries dont give you enuff information about amounts of cargo needed.....how much potash and sand do i need to get to the glass factory....it doesnt say :(

anyhow cheers

good sh....ouhps

No. I do not wan unused industries on the map. You have 5 to select the ones you like. After that dying is started.
I may agree to increase this number up to 10 years, but values above this seem unreasonable high.

Build a new one

Industries in alpha vectors are not a question for discussion.

I realy like the ECS Vectors. It makes more possibility's of transfering caro.

But... I was wondering if it is true the new cargo's like glass, vehicles and sand have a cargo paymentrate of zero.
I've searched on the 'wiki' and the forum, but I couldn't find a topic relating to this problem. (though, 3.a.m is quite late and I want to go to bed  )

But again, could someone tell me how to resolve this problem?
I was using the GRF's shown in the screenshot.

Tnx in advance

*Edit: Never mind, I downloaded the 6 december ECS files and started using those. Now the new cargo's do get paid :D

Is there any way of stopping the industries from closing... I saw George's earlier coment on 'selecting the ones you like' but how do you do that?
I had a vehicles factory that I was delivering everything to and from but it closed still.

I have to return to my own reply and the solution I thought worked:

After trying some things, I found out I didn't get paid for the new goods when I made my own scenario.
But when I started a blank new random game, I did get paid for the new goods.

Is this a bug or does is only happen to me? ;-)

Hi George
Farm's are not accepting fertilizer. The farm shows a stockpile option but doesn't accept it. I am using 2.6 alpha r1793. I am attaching screen shots of both a new game & an old game (which i played for sometime [till 1990]). Also i have played OTTD & the farm accepts fertilizer in it.
Sorry if this has been reported before & corrected.

here in 1784 it works fine. I'll update to 1793 a bit later to test it.

Tested. Works fine here :(
The small red house accepts it. check its' tile data.
It may be a problem of amount of animations. Old ECS code used animation to store acceptance data. Newly coded industries use registers. But farm is an old code.
Test if it happens with small amount of towns and industries. Try to increase the value for animations in config.

Would it be possible to add a check for nearby activity, prevent the industry closing down if a station has just been built next to it? Thats twice in a row a vehicle factory has died on me right after I begin providing it with supplies.

there only two things to check - number of cargo transported last month (transporting produced cargo if > 0) and number of cargo waiting (cargo delivered if > 0).
They both are used to decrease close down chances for ECS industries (but only 1 condition per industry type).

The small red house doesn't accept anything, only the house with black roof accepts vehicles!!
As for animation I have kept it at maximum   ..

Hi,

I tried updating my ECS industries to more recent versions (max date = 6 Dec) (see attatched screenshots for list of GRF files and versions). With the most recent versions (I am playing with the Arctic climate in OTTD 0.6.0-beta 2), factories and banks in old save-games are turned into what looks like coal-mines. However, when I fund a new factory, the factory looks normal.

When I go to the scenario editor and edit an arctic scenario, the bank has disappered completely from the list of available industries.

However, when I install the previous versions, things go back to normal again.

Attatched are screenshots of the scenario editor showing which versions of ECS I'm using and the list of available industries.

Is there an ECS changelog anywhere so I can see what I'm missing out on by not upgrading my ECS sets?

Well since ECS is in development stage, some industries have been moved to a different vector. This causes change of industries sprite order, leading to change in the image displayed ,when the grf's are replaced in an ongoing game. Its better if you replace the grf's before starting a new game.
