What are these keyboard shortcuts? I suspect you have a trainer loaded.

Here's a bit of railfanning CSX style but with OBS doing the recording. I kinda figured out how to get to display properly in 1080p. I need to do a tutorial for ya'll

I've been playing Locomotion on and off over the years, but I have never actually tried the long station patch until now. My stations limit out about 20-24 tiles long instead of the limit of 16. I must say trains look much better now.

Just restarted after years with good intentions. The orignal line was Left to Right at ground level, then the top to bottom with a spur terminating at the station under the new viaduct, and then the new spurred mainline - nothing like complex junctions... Track diagram SimSig style below (albeit no signals shown)

Nice junction work, looks straight out of the original Transport Tycoon.

It has since had an upgrade to add non-stop through lines - spaghetti junction eat your heart out...

Emperor Darth Sidious wrote:Very, very beautifull ! Seems you have done a lot of editing in the game and I respect that a lot. Still, I would like to ask you where did you get these walls that I see next to tracks in screenshot 14 and those foundations in the stone and steel bridges. Your stationbuildings are beautifull as well and that containeryard also looks great...I can see that a lot of passion is put into this scenario mate.

Keep up the good work !

I repainted the walls of the tunnel according to attach to date. I adjusted the grass for you, locomotion became my drug of choice year and a half working and still not everything according to my dreams :-)
Does anybody have idea how to play with GRASS2.dat & STENA2.dat modded ?

My first post here, after lurking for.... 6 years?? I've taken so much inspiration and ideas from this thread, its about time I gave something back. Better late than never! :D
Some random screens from various saves:
hall_junction.PNG
A bizarre junction between the 3-track mainline and the one track, two-way branch servicing an oilfield and a grain farm, on a fictional map with default vehicles. It doesn't work perfectly though, sometimes trains meet at the signal in the middle, and one has to back up.

A busy at-grade junction on Echo Valley Pass, with SP. Left to right: a single track with sidings that carries short lumber trains up the hill & back, the single lane that carries traffic downhill, the lane for heavy coal and lumber trains going to the other side of the map, and the passing lane for faster passenger trains. The passing lane has since been extended, before they had to wait behind long, heavy trains like in the pic.

newell_yard.png
The yard at the paper mill in a modified Cyclade Capers, with BN. Not a lot of space around here, so all paper trains load at once. There are platforms for short lumber trains from the other side of the island, medium ones from the next island over, and long trains from the mainland. The mainline passes along the coastline, and a branch line to the coal mines wraps around the facility. Cars and old engines are stored wherever there is room.

Thanks! Here's some more...
winston_printing.png
More from Cyclade Capers, in 1973 this time. Local trains are headed to Bira hauling livestock and grain, passing a short food train on it's delivery run. A paper train unloads at Winston Printing Works on their right, while mainline construction is underway on their left. In a few years, long coal and iron trains will be thundering down from the mountains.

As it turned out, the old winding tracks at the end of their journey would be a pain for those long coal trains. So much so that the iron ore trains weren't put into service due to the congestion they would've caused. Eastwood Gap needed to be widened before that, but for now the heavy coal trains crawl up the steep grade as the company's finances tumbled down them.

A new bridge shades the old track below, where it will soon be torn up. The old level junction is gone, and so are all the headaches caused by constant grain train traffic. The only downside is that the passengers of the commuter trains see less action below than they used to.
