About two weeks to go..... what are you playing until then?

Hi All,

Just found this site, I first came across Transport Tycoon after a friend brought round a cd with the demo, i was hooked immediately.

Just a couple of points after reading some of your posts:

i) The game is not released yet, so why not wait until we see it before criticising it?

ii) The original game and the Deluxe version had me hooked for many years - longer than any other game i have played. Yes they had their limitations, but given the computers in our homes back in 1994 this is understandable. And lets not forget it is a GAME, it was never intended as a highly accurate simulation.

iii) It will be based on Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (RCT) code - so? It is normal practice for a programmer to reuse code from one project to another, and shouldn't be taken as a bad thing, if anything it is an advantage - we have the game quicker and cheaper than if it was written from scratch.

So the main question - and the reason for this post:

What is everyone playing a the moment until Locomotion hits the shops?

me? Settlers 4 - I can't face building up a big company in TTD just to abandon it once the new game comes

I agree entirely. Too many people pre-judging Locomotion before it is released. Nobody has even played a demo yet!

Good to see another Settlers fan on the forum. I bought Transport Giant when it was released in the UK, but wasn`t impressed and sold my copy to a guy in Canada. Have been alternating between Settlers 4 and TTDPatch, eagerly awaiting both Locomotion and Settlers - Heritage of Kings.

not that I intend to go buy/play/download locomotion, but here is what I am playing untill WoW comes out:

-NWN (normal, no expansions)
-TTDx (patch, USset)
-Redmoon ( http://www.rockshouse.com/phpbb ) THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL SERVER! normal servers are payed! (and it aint an illegal server too )
-working on Purnos site ( http://users.tt-forums.net/purno ) right now, the upload section works: can upload: picture of the real thing, the sprite, dosGRF and winGRF, and, if those excist on an other server, you can add the link to it, you can add the vehicles stats (if you select an other cat. some options will be gone, since buildings dont have speeds and a max traction effort )
-nextweek,starting on tuesday: school
-toying with my marklin train.(soon gonna buy a new *starting set*, dont know which one yet, gonna switch over doe digital instead of conventional
-following ballroom dancing lessons every, wednesday, friday and 2times on saturday, and after that, every saturday (and sometimes also friday evenig) free dancing from 2200 > 0100
-winning trophys with ballroom dancing (I hope )

-oh, and afcourse chatting with freinds
