Just noticed something...

Post by JamesM »

Did anyone else see the double track icon in one of the screenshots?? I attached 2 small pics to show the comparison... (Also note in the second attachment a bus stuck on the railway crossing with a train approaching)

Comments/Ideas on why the different icon? We know the road Icon forms a drop down menu where there are 3 options and (apparently) you can choose a one way street. So obviously the track icon forms a drop down menu aswell...but what does the 2 track icon signify?

*EDIT* Well I've come to the conclusion that it probably is the tram lines........I wish it was for mulitple track stations though (which we still haven't seen)

wonder if they're aware of that gate traping the bus,... Is there an official forum to post comments like that in?

It wouldn't be my bus. I try to avoid crossing rails with my routes in TT as it's just an accident waiting to happen. But as seen in the movies it appears that road vehicles stop a lot earlier when a train is approaching so maybe it will be less of a problem.

I think it's just beta shots having different interfaces. There are some interfaces with lots of icons, whereas now they have grouped them all together better. Tram lines will probaly be in the rail section.

That pic u posted just above shows some sort of narrow guage track, I think it's the tram and the first pic is double track
There is no ship icon cause the vehicle mode is set to building trains

I hope there will be a lot more ships in Loocomotion, the amount in TTD is quite meager.

JamesM, that is an older beta interface. It has been updated since then.
I have explained my thoughts already.

See my uploaded shots, the icons are probaly as follows:
(1) Edit terrain
(2) Build railway
(3) Build roads
(4) Build seperate stations (eg, airport, seaport)
(5) Build Vehicles

(6) View vehicles
(7) View stations or company stats
(8) View towns

How do you know which screens are which version???? Either could be current. Your list is what I also would assume, but if I were designing the game I would have a tab for each of the 4 modes of transport, rail, road, air and sea rather than grouping air and sea together :?

All the newer shots have the new interface (I think)

If you look at TTD, the boat and ship things are much smaller then the others, as you don't need track. I think it makes sense to pop them in the same box, as it's no bigger inconvenience.

In some of the new shots, it is actually a dock picture, rather than an airport tower.. but again, this could just be the dynamic interface. When your messing with buses, the icons changed to build/view buses pictures, and that is the tab the dialog opens at. This could be the same for the station symbol, depending what tab it was on when you closed it.
