Is there a way to set stuff to not get obsolete?

Title.
I want to use small airports for islands and older smaller vehicles for some settings on custom scenarios.

From start screen:
Settings
Limitations
Airports never expire
Select ON
Same for vehicles just below.

Are you sure? That sounds like something in OpenLoco. In the base game, the only way I'm aware of is to decompile the airport file with LocoTool.
