Viaducts / Bridges

I love Transport Tycoon graphics but after looking at the lastest screens I hate those via ducts with a passion, they look so awful... reckon the graphics for those will change for the final version?

I doubt it'll be changed. IMO, the stone look is very nice, but it looks ugly because the viaducts are angular and the tracks are more narrow and curved. That's the game engine.

Lord: the angular bridges is not the game engine, as it would be quite easy to make an angular sprite with a curved bridge on it (see the bob-sled coaster in RCT) However, Double track would still have to spread a little, as the game engine would recognise the whole area being taken up, even though a smaller area would be taken up by the visible portions of the sprite.

Not true - in RCT2, you can create a 2-square curve and a 3-square curve with the same center...

bobxp's right, you can make an easy double mini-railway track in RCT easy

I think a lot of the problem with it looking unrealistic would be from the AI players, or the person taking the shots demonstrating various features, I never play with the AI anyway, I like them actually, But I wouldnt use them how they're being used in those shots.
