This design also works expanded to 4-6-8-10-ect.
you just have to expand the length too though buy 4 blocks per new platform.
so for 8 stations, you extend the junction by 16 blocks!!!

But still works.

This is a tip on how to build a station inside a town without getting caught by those nasty approval ratings.

In this example a player is staring at a town named Oberwald. According to this player, Oberwald has the potential to become the next victim of his growing commuter empire.

1. First and foremost : Do not do anything inside the town border.
Plan. Survey the landscape around the town and the town itself. Where are you going to put the stations? Does the placement of the station involves a lot of demolishing and terraforming?

In this example, the town Ostwald is located in a flat area , albeit with a hill directly beside it, which can cause some difficulties while building a rail line leading to and out of the proposed station.

2. Demolish town buildings first.
Demolish all town buildings that occupies the land in your station.

3. Remove obstructions.
After you have cleared all the occupying buildings, then, and only then you may remove all obstructions in your proposed station.

4. Build the remaining rails and the station itself...
...and voila, you managed to build your station inside the town! Now Ostwald passengers are in the hands of the player, for now.

I'm sure most people already figured this out and do this, but for those who haven't, I might as well share my $0.02. You can "sabotage" AI trucks and busses by finding that one straight road piece in the road they've built and putting a grade crossing on it, then putting a wagon on that and just leaving it there. Sure, it costs a few pounds/dollars a month, but it kills the AI. Does NOT work on AI railways - railways are untouchable - but very helpful to extinguish trucks, buses, and (the few times AI uses them) trams.

I use that ALL the time. See my screenshots thread (which you have).

I would recommend removing the AI altogether, though. It's much better having free reign and not having to dodge a shoddy oil line.

Better still, if you got a competitor whose trucks or buses are affecting your service, you can put that piece of track over the road and park a freight car on it. Then, build a detour road around the blocked crossing. As this detour will be your property, you can remove the road as their truck/bus is driving over it, causing it to crash. Quickly rebuild the road, and repeat as needed.

This comes in handy if you want to cause financial problems for the competitor. If you block his trucks/buses long enough, he will sell them and remove the blocked route. This way he can't sell the vehicles.

Well this might help some people but I'm not sure. What I like to do before I start a new map is draw it all on paper such as a whole sketch of the rough estimate locations of towns and industries and make a sort of basic route map plotting where stations, yards, junctions, etc... will be. Then I start with the easiest thing to make money with in the Sherman Hill map I start with grain. Once I make enough money I build small additions to it and If it is a predetermined route such as Sherman Hill I fill in the route from start to finish, signal it, then I finally connect towns and industries to the main section until everything is connected, and I work out the bugs in junctions by drawing them out and thinking how to fix them because the brain is more powerful than most computers. Then I sit back and wach the ratings and money flourish.

Hope this helps,

It's hardly a dig if the topic is stickied in my opinion.
