Archive.org just gave lots of old MS DOS games (there's over 2000).
All playable via browser, you can of course play Transport Tycoon as well

Transport Tycoon available at: https://archive.org/details/msdos_Transport_Tycoon_1994

All games: https://archive.org/details/softwarelib ... s_games/v2

Well, not quite playable...

Code: Select all

Fatal Error TNT.10049: Ran out of stack buffers
Error occurred in real mode, exception/interrupt number 0008h
I kinda have my doubts that Moby Games had permission to release a binary to Internet Archive.

Or, hey, it looks like Internet Archive did get permission to release over 2000 classic games.

Would be nice if we could find a way to direct those who play TT there to OTTD's download.

You can now start a game, don't know how far in you will be able to go. I managed to build a simple bus route in a town with no landscaping or opening any windows unrelated to road and rv construction. The first tutorial however crashed on me when it was about to give it's rvs orders. Have provided this information to the curator.

I wonder how saving games works. TTO says it saved my game to the virtual C drive. I wonder if anyone here can see a Munnton Transport save in the game :P I have had good results using Chrome and sometimes FireFox Nightly on Windows 8.1.

Edit: Saving doesn't work at all as I suspected once it eventually crashed.
