Hint/tip #1: download TTDeluxe and TTDpatch.
You'll never go back to TTO...

I first came accross TTO in about 1995/6.
I played that until I came accross TTD in late 1999.
I first found TTD Patch in about july/august this year.

The Windows version of TTD (From here), with the windows version of TTDPatch (From here) will work on XP.
Only the Windows Version and only with TTDPatch.
No other versions will work.

I had to download that on 56k... not fun...

The rar version is slightly smaller, if you have WinRar, you might want to get that version.

Coming to this topic a little late, but still...

I too saw a demo from some computer magazine, and was immediately hooked. That was around mid-1994. Unfortunately, TT was the first game in the U.S. to be released only on CD-ROM! At the time, I was still floppy-only. I had to wait until I went to London with friends for Christmas, and I was able to find a British floppy disk version.

Was first introduced to TTO in 1994/5 when my friend bought it for his 486. Didn't really do a lot of playing at that time (merely watching), but when I got my own machine in 1996 I purchased TTO+WE and played that on and off for a couple of years, before coming across TTD in August 1998.

Since then I've played that continously, and was particularly happy to hear about the TTD patch when in the TT newsgroup :)

i used to play tto on my flatmates computer which was a ... oh. i probably forgot. but it was far below 100MHz for sure. i remember to have a special boot disk to get sufficent memory too. 8MB RAM??? can't remember either. the only things i know are
- that i moved into this flat in 1994
- that the machine was far to slow to run a win95 on it.
so i guess it was 1995 or 1996.

once a friend of mine visited me with his laptop and the brandnew ttdlx. it took us hours to get a networkgame via com port up. first i didnt like ttdlx. not at all. the single signals were horrible. but once i got the idea all was fine and we played a 72 hours nonstop session.

these days i was really addicted. one year ago this friend of mine asked me how to get tt running on a win2k machine. i was helpless and had no answer. some weeks ago - as i mentioned elsewhere - i discovered that tt is still alive. i contacted my mate and guess what?

we are both addicted. and i guess there will be another networksession to tell from too. across the globe from china to austria. chris bless the internet.

I started playing TTO in 1995 or maybe 1994, anyhow it was on my 486 DX2 66MHz 4MB RAM with DOS and I bought another 4MB of RAM so The Game would run flawlessly. Since then, I'm a TTO/D fanatic. It's the best game, I've ever played!!! (and play other games too!!)

I started in 94 (?) on a 33MHz 486 when the demo of TT was on the cover disk for UK magazine PC Plus. Oh it was wonderful when I upgraded to a 150MHz Pentium with soundcard a few years later - the game felt completely different. !
