I tried with the original version of TT an it works perfectly, is it possible to "convert" the file, so it will work in the Open TTD Game? Is it possible to convert it by myself or is external knowledge necessary?

Load it in one of the latest OpenTTD nightlies. They support loading Transport Tycoon (Original) savegames and scenarios.

Alternatively, use SVXConverter to convert the savegames/scenarios to TTD. They will then be loadable already with OpenTTD 0.6.3.
