Except it'd be TTOAlter, spiff. ;)

Neither of these problems is very likely for TTO, as not many people play the game any more, and TTD is a lot better (especially with TTDPatch).

Transport Tycoon Original Patch or Alter

Post by MadBee »

I have both games and enjoy both of them a lot and the biggest thing I want for the Original Transport Tycoon is to try and make the number of Vehicals a lot more then what is allowed and make the running costs lower.

Just wondering is there any way for me to make a program that can help me or if there is anything around to help change the number of vehicals and running costs?

Please help

Fan of TT and TTDX

Well, you'll have to use a hex editor and somehow find the location of the vehicle information in the EXE. This is quite hard as a lot of it (but not all of it) is encoded in a special way (eg, to get vehicle speed, you may have to multiply by a certain number, and divide by a different number to get price).

I don't know if you could write a similar patch for TTO

Perhaps Patchman can tell you how much work it would take

A patch for TTO? It would be cool but how many would use it? Not many. Everyone (mostly (I think...)) plays TTD, so it would be a waste of time, if it can be done.

You can at least change the on board graphics, if you like.

Transport Tycoon Original Patch or Alter

Post by MadBee »

I'm happy I can change the on board graphics at least

way_2_fun - I play both TTO and TTDX but I like TTO better and the biggest thing I want that TTDX has that TTO doesn't is to change the number of vehicals to unlimited numbers and running costs lower or none and speeds and make everything from Helicopters and prop planes stay around and not go obsuleit. If there was a way to safely make a program or patch to do that I would use it or even help in making it.

I love both TTO and TTDX but my heart will always be with TTO and trying to make it just like TTDX with all that it has to offer and stuff for it

Well, at some point, when I have some spare time (a while yet - perhaps when my exams are done in 2 weeks), I may well try my hand at a basic TTOAlter, but no promises.
