Play TTO? Read Here for a TTD Set-Up Guide!

So, you play TTO, enjoy the games you have going? When you come and ask for help extending TTO, you're told it's impossible, and to upgrade to TTD. But you don't want to have your hard-thought out games made unusable and redundant. Never fear, I've put together a quick, simple guide to getting TTD Patch up and running, and even to getting your favourite games into TTD Patch.

Firstly, you want to download TTD. It's basically a more advanced TTO version, so it's quite simple to learn if you've played TTO. You can get it here.

Now that you have TTD extracted into a folder, you'll need to get TTD Patch(here after referred to as TTDP). It adds many great, new features to TTD. You can download the latest version from here.

OK, you've got TTD and TTDP installed, but what about those games you've been spending so much time working on. They won't load by themselves. That's where the SVX Converter comes in. It allows you to select one of your games, and convert it into a fully TTDP-compatible game. You can get the file from here.

Now that you've got TTDP set up, and your games converted, it's time for you to lay back and enjoy your newly set-up game. Have Fun :)

I don't, I can't get the CD to work anymore. And I would bump across of official game limitations while I am used to play a TT version that overcomes those limitations. (Build on slopes! :P ) Altough I liked to play Mars. :P

/me searches for the mars conversion again. :P

He means that you can download the "Full TTO Conversion" NewGRF, which makes OpenTTD (or TTDPatch) look like TTO. Find it here: http://grfcrawler.tt-forums.net/details ... ails&id=76

I haven't been able to get DOSBox running on my current computer, but I played TTO on DOSBox on an older machine, and if I ever fire up my 1995 actual DOS box again I'd get back to playing TT on it.

I have no desire ever to play TTD or TTDPatch though I do play OpenTTD now.Contrary to the first post here TTD takes things AWAY from TT that I do not want to lose (1930-50 trains in particular).

If you'd read closely, you'd notice that the 2 messages before mine were under 5 years old,not 10.

If you'd read closely, you'd notice that what I said was that the post that you replied to (ie - the one you quoted) was 10 years old.

Well,no,that post doesn't turn 10 until next month.
And I last played TTO years after it was written.

You still dug up a topic that's last reply was nearly five years ago, to reply to a near 10 year old comment. And if you want to be so pedantic about things, there should be a space after each comma you have used. You know, it's just proper grammar :P (A further check shows that user hasn't even been on TT-F in the last 698 days, 7 hours, 12 minutes and 32 seconds )

I've been rejecting the barbarous habit of spacing after punctuation since way before Transport Tycoon existed.
