Sub-tropical town names?

Post by jez »

In the original TTD, the sub-tropical map had special sub-tropical town names generated. In OpenTTD, they seem to just be the same as in the other climates. Is there a way to get it to generate sub-tropical town names for that climate?

You must select a set of town names in the world generation dialog. Additional sets are available as NewGRFs.

It scares me to know that somebody looked at the default English names and thought "those are not silly enough".

The Silly names are inherited from Transport Tycoon Deluxe though.

In the original game, when you change landscape type on the main menu, it also switches the town names setting in Game Options.
Temperate gets English, Sub-arctic gets American, Sub-tropical gets Latin-American, and Toyland gets Silly.
