Plane crash (JGRpp title screen)

Post by gebik »

Hi,
have you noticed it? Is that common? I have been doing something here on forums, while game was running in background on title screen, and after cca 15 minutes a BOOM. Looked into game, and behind menu was crashed plane...
I remember that title screen back in 1.10 RC-1 and in JGRpp at that time. Was that savegame present in 1.9? Also I remember seeing some thread with easter egg train crash in title screen. Is that something similar as this plane crash?

The title screen is just a savegame, and it's not actually on rails, which means planes can crash randomly.
No pics no clicks. Seriously.

Well, if your plane is on rails, something has gone wrong.

That title screen is super old (I think it dates back to 2004?) and it's still the default for any non-major release of the game. Nothing specific to JGR

BTW, I got bored with standard patched version of title screen (and also I needed to distinguish between JGRPP and another forked versions), therefore I created own savegame for title screen:

There are some JGRPP features show-ups (those without external newgrfs required) and gentle screen animation.
Map was created without any cheats, because I also decided to test JGRPP playability with vanilla set.
If somebody want to replace start screen, here is opntitle.dat to replace original one located in your /JGRPP/baseset folder (v.0.44, works for newer as well):
