Autoreplace old engines whenever they are serviced (i.e. forced servicing)?

Post by odalman »

Autoreplace of old engines with a selected newer model seems to work but only when the train has a depot in its orders. Can it be made to work whenever the train is serviced, such as forced servicing?

Every time a train visits a depot it will be checked for autoreplace, regardless whether the depot is present in the orders. However, there are several factors that can prevent autoreplace; most of the time this happens because you don't have enough funds.

There is also a setting to renew old vehicles, replacing them with the same model. Of course, this will fail if the vehicle is no longer available.
