the good thing about the symmetry station
even if you do not have the money to do a full upgrade to next rail type
or you do not use the progressive rail for easier upgrade
you can upgrade half of your station lines to the new rail type and start upgrading half of your trains to the new type

this way you are doing the upgrade slowly while keeping your network up and running

it is half maglev half vacuum and half trains have been upgrade to vacuum

without pausing the game
without taking the line out of use

if the station was split into 3 parts you can even have 3 different rail types
