How is bankruptcy handled in game?

Post by marioxcc »

Hello.

I have seen a dialog that the company may be sold soon or declared bankrupt. My company was indeed losing money and I could not recover it. I continued playing to see what would happen, but apparently nothing happened. The balance just became increasingly negative. Does there exists any in-game notion of a company being bankrupt? Is the game supposed to end at some moment because of negative balance.

Thanks.

bankrupt companies will have all their assets (rails, vehicles, stations) removed, roads will become unowned but still usable by other companies.

in single player, the player company cannot go bankrupt, only AI companies. in multi player, also player companies can go bankrupt
