Unexplained jump in building costs

Post by RJL »

I have been using ver. 1.5.1.27298 quite happily on Windows 8.1. But now when I start a new game, the building costs are out of this world. A single rail tile (111m.p.h.) costs more than GBP16k - previously +/- GBP 390. A 2-track, 4-tile station costs GBP141k!!

What gives here?

Default rail has no speed limit, so I am guessing you are using a railtype NewGRF, or a train NewGRF that also provides tracks. Non-default tracks can have non-default prices. Alternatively, have you loaded a basecost GRF? It allows for tuning costs for just about everything including station tiles or track tiles.

In other words, have a closer look at the active NewGRFs :)
