You can't play without the Windows TTD files. You can get it from the-underdogs.org
http://sf.net/projects/openttd/
Post all your patches and feature requests here.

but the code is not done so it is unsupported

Bjarni, BTW, why the OpenTTD sources are not in sourceforge's CVS repository?.. it would be easier to get help from other developers.

there is info on how to get the newest sourcecode on http://www.openttd.com
We are using SVN for sourcecontrol

"get" the code is fewer then "access" it.
A lot of nice projects suffer from limit of developers. And the main problem usually that potential developers can't access the current code. As a result a lot of developers have no motivation to find and submit patches.

don't forget: those who just patch at the very beginning then often become a mature developer.

you can look at all the files there and see changes on the different revisions

If you want to make it easy for you to keep coding, you shoud read this http://www.openttd.com/development.php on how to get an SVN client because it makes it A LOT easier to keep your local copy of the source updated
