Hi!
I downloaded openttd yesterday, and I was able to play it.... Very nice.
at first: That I did like to play?
I like to play a very large area, very difficult, starting in 6thousend years before chr.; with no money; against some computer neighbours to overtake in time... Somethink like Siedler I.
My Problems:
Folders: It seams, that the standard Folders are wrong ore some folders are missing. I tryed to find a folder to safe GFK´s. And the right position for a folder scenarios. As I download scenarios, thy will saved somewhere. But I am not able to find were.
So is it possible to tell me the folder positions?
Thanks for your great Game and your ideas.
Regards Carsten

If you are downloading the content and adding it apart from the in-game content download service (aka "BaNaNaS"), then in your base directory where you installed OpenTTD you should find folders that say ai, game (for gamescripts), newgrf, save (for saved games), and scenario. Inside scenario should also heightmaps. This is where you should keep the stuff you download there.
If you're using the in-game content download service, then you'll find one more directory, content_download, with the same directory structure as above. Things downloaded from within OpenTTD will automatically save in the right folders, and you should NOT modify these, or add or remove files, at all. If you didn't down load it in-game, then save it in the base directory files instead.

Re: newbe
In the readme file you received with your OpenTTD program there is a long explanation about the directories used by OpenTTD.So is it possible to tell me the folder positions?
Being a retired OpenTTD developer does not mean I know what I am doing.
