patch for small airport

Post by fabca2 »

hi,
I saw the feature "always allow building small airports patch" have been implemented in svn, but I don't know how to enable this patch ?
I went to "configure patch" I didn't see any such feature.

If I run ottd from year 2010, small airports won't be allowed.

any help ?

Ok, I forgot to mention I was runing a recent revision : 508 (supposed to be here)
Till few minutes I play now on 0.3.1, but I'm very sorry this option is still not available in the game ! (I check the "configure patch screen")

or did I miss it ?

post it a bug in sf :-)
i'm sure ludde will include it in the next release.

of course it's usefull (that's not me who requested), because if you have not enough place for a big airport, you can still place a small one !
obvious !

It's also obivous that it is very dangerous to build small airports in the later years. You're taking a huge risk with landing supersonic planes on such a crappy airfield. If it was up to me, I'd increase the risc of crashing by 100% every time an airplane tries to land on a small airport.

I despise your lack of safety for your passangers. At least the AI is smarter :)

Not very realistic, in reality the airplane wouldn't even try to land on a small airport where it would crash with a change of 100%.

Small airports are usefull for helicopters. Since heliports don't feature a hangar, you need at least 1 airport in the flight-path. But large ones make the heli travel a lot of distance on the ground, which is inefficient. And they take a lot of space (try building one in arctic climate, sheesh...). That's why small airports should stay available.
