make rev 501 to work ?
hello,
I use to compile to try uptodate revision (and it works)
I tried with rev 501, and As I've seen directory structure have changed.
I'm on W2K.
english.lng have been copied into lang\ directory.
ttd.exe complained about file that must now be placed in data\ directory.
now I've all files in data\
- trg*r.grf (5 files)
- canalsw.grf
- openttd.cfg , openttd.grf , opettd.dat
- sample.cat
- signalsw.grf
and
- ttd.map
but when I run ttd.exe now, it do nothing, nothing appears, no message, no menu, no window, it just ends and return to windows.
is there something wrong ???
thank you.

Try to launch the command line console (start > run > "cmd") (Démarrer > Exécuter > "cmd")fabca2 wrote:hello,

And then go to the ttd.exe directory using the old good ms-dos commands "cd c:\progra~1\open-ttd" and then run ttd.exe
You should be able to see console error messages if there are.
The .cfg file is ofcourse in the same directory as the ttd executeable.
Don't forget to also put cached_sprites.xxx in the data directory.
All that should be in main is ttd.exe and openttd.cfg
