Post by fabca2 »

I imagine that GRF file are grapfic file used by OTTD. (example canalsw.gif)

Is it possible to read it with a tools (like paint shop pro, xnview) or whatever ?

or is there some documentations about that (how to read it.. and how to convert PNG into GRF for example) ???

thank you.

You must download grfcodec. This little DOS-based program can decode grf-files into pcx-files and back. It should be available somewhere at http://www.ttdpatch.net

or you can use shadow's grfwizard, which is the windows based version of the same tool i do believe. look in the TTDpatch - Graphics forum and the tutorial on how to create graphics

Andrex did it, not me ...
and it still require GRFcodec to work

GRF File = PCX + NFO
PCX is graphic, images have to be draw in special TTDs palette
NFO is file with all data of sprites and in some cases even data of vehicles
what are you looking at? it's a signature!
