I get (hundreds) of transmitters in the snow covered area in an arctic game :)
Is there meant to be like this ?

did you notice tons of transmitters in normal ttd? no? so it must be a bug, hehe =)

Maybe the map generator freaked ;). Every once in a long while, random number generators will do wierd things. They are, after all, random.

well i tried to generate some maps in ttd and some in openttd, and there are always way to many transmitters placed on the map by openttd, compared to ttd :)

I once got 2 or 3 transmitters inside a town and there was at least 3 others withing 10 tiles. It adds too many transmitters once in a while

I also get a lot of transmitters in a temperate game with "Terrain type: Mountainous" :D

BTW, on sourceforge it looks like this has been fixed now
