Purple graphics

Post by quadfour »

Trying to play OpenTTD (linux) with both the native compiled version and the Win32 version under wine, and both of them have purple graphics for the ocean/water/roads etc. The grass is green but thats about it.

Any pointers?

Make sure you're using the original graphics sets from windows ttd.

AFAIK I am, its the same copy of TTD that I used to play years ago when I used windows. (I knew I'd be able to play it again some day).

Any other ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. I compiled ttd successfully in linux (FC1), but most graphic elements are purple - ie. the water, buttons, menus, etc. I am using unmodified files from the original game - they're running fine in Windows.

Are they from the Windows version of the game, though?

What are you referring to? Mind you that I don't have windows like epsilon. Still, it does the same purplness under both wine and native OpenTTD. I really dunno what to do :(

There are different versions of the game. Even if your game does or did run in Windows does not mean that you have the correct version. You need "Transport Tycoon Deluxe for Windows 95". If you legally own it you can can download it here.

Ok, that did it, many thanks. Next time I'll be more careful while reading the instructions.
