Installer for OpenTTD
Moderator: OpenTTD Developers
I've never really tried Inno, BTW, so I can't really compare them.
NSIS is the in-house installer that the makers of Winamp created, but it eventually got out of control and became an open source general installer . It uses scripting a lot, and is very customizeable, so it appeals to a programming junkie like me .
Here's a couple of listings of its features:

Authorized Installer Hosts - No More!
This is to anyone who wants to be a download mirror:
Please, post my installer on your site. Simply let me know so that I can use you as a download mirror. Note: I would directly link to the EXE file.

Finally, it's working!
I've finally got a workingt installer up and running! See http://members.cox.net/tallwoodband/openttd
It doesn't have the March 6th release (with its English.lng bug), but it does have the original release + source code.

"Authorized", meaning . . . ?This post holds the latest list of authorized sites to mirror my installer. I will update it as needed.
Hmm - heh, won't use a harddrive folder as a CD. Guess I'll have to dig up the original CD . . .
Oh, a pet peeve of mine is installers that have the manufacturer/author as a folder, making it two deep - why? Except in the case of Westwood (love their games), I almost never have more than one program in a particular manufacturer/author's folder, making this two-deep structure useless.
Will Dynamic Components be able to be used with the SourceForge File List system?
Sorry if I sound too critical, I tend to be that way . . . it's a good installer .

Dynamic Components
I thnk I need to explain this a bit better:
soon, there's going to be updates to OpenTTD. I'll release patches. Dynamic Components will check if I have any patches and download / run them during installation.
Also, I got rid of Authorized Sites. Post my installer if you'd like, Just let me know so I can use your site as a d/l mirror. Note: this would directly link to the EXE file.
